Cookies and local storage
Last updated: 30 October 2026 (technical review of the live website)
This website’s code does not set any analytics or advertising cookies and does not embed services such as Google Analytics, advertising networks or social media plugins. The hosting platform does, however, add scripts and cookies of its own, including a visitor statistics tool; section 2 describes them as found on 30 October 2026.
1. Website entries in browser storage
These entries are only created when you use the relevant feature. They stay in your browser and are not sent to us:
- “theme”: your chosen appearance (light, dark or system). Kept until you change it or clear your browser storage.
- “manual-language-selection” and “language-selection-timestamp”: the language you last chose, so that the main address opens in that language. Ignored after 30 days and deleted the next time you open the main address.
- “rate_limit_contact_form”: a counter of submissions to prevent misuse (five-minute window). Only used if the form sends enquiries to a server; the current version, which prepares an email draft, does not create it.
This storage is strictly necessary for a feature you have explicitly requested (Art. 122(1) Italian Privacy Code and Art. 5(3) Directive 2002/58/EC) and therefore does not require consent.
2. Cookies set by the hosting and delivery infrastructure
The following cookies are set by the infrastructure through which the website is delivered:
- “__cf_bm” (Cloudflare): detection of automated traffic and protection of the website. Expires after 30 minutes.
- “__dpl” (hosting platform): links your visit to a specific published version of the website. Expires after about seven days.
- “session-id” (hosting platform, script /~flock.js): random identifier that groups the pages viewed during one visit for the platform’s visitor statistics. It is set as soon as a page first loads, without any interaction. Expires after 30 minutes.
The scripts /~flock.js and /__l5e/… are added automatically by the platform and send usage and measurement data to the platform (see the privacy policy, section 3). /__l5e/… does not store data in the browser but reads technical information such as load times. The scripts are not part of the website’s code, and the website’s code cannot switch them off; according to the platform’s documentation, visitor statistics can be disabled in the project settings.
3. Managing and deleting cookies
You can view, block or delete cookies and stored website data at any time in your browser settings. If you block cookies set by the delivery infrastructure, access to the website may be restricted.
4. Future changes
If we use services that require consent in future, they will only be loaded after you have given it. You will then be able to change or withdraw your choice at any time via a permanent “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
